Description
Synvisc And Synvisc-One are derivatives of hyaluronic acid, a product of natural origin. They are intended to be injected into the joint in order to replace the synovial fluid (fluid in which the joint is bathed, which fails in the event of osteoarthritis). Their role is to facilitate the functioning of the knee joint and to absorb the shocks to which it is subjected.
This gel is intended for intra-articular injection to relieve pain, improve mobility and absorb the shocks to which it is subjected.
Viscosupplementation consists of the injection of a liquid with viscoelastic properties in order to compensate for the loss of quality and quantity of synovial fluid, particularly in the case of osteoarthritis. The synovia functions like a cushion, preventing the ends of the bones from rubbing against each other.
The range is available in two products:
- Synvisc® used in 3 successive injections at 1 week intervals: one 2.25 ml glass syringe
- Synvisc-One® used in a single injection: 10 ml glass syringe.
Composition Synvisc – Synvisc one
hylan 8.0 mg, sodium chloride 8.5 mg, disodium phosphate 0.16 mg, sodium dihydrogen phosphate hydrate 0.04 mg, water for injections
Synvisc contient 2 ml de Hylane G-F 20.
Synvisc-One contient 6 ml de Hylane G-F 20.
Hylan G-F 20 is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic liquid containing the polymers hylan A and hylan B produced from a highly purified avian extract. Hylans are derivatives of hyaluronan (sodium hyaluronate: hyaluronic acid)
